1905 Birth of Christian Dior in Granville, Normandy.
1938 Dior starts working for Robert Piguet, a Swiss fashion designer, and designs his first "it-products" like the houndstooth suit.
1946 Creation of the Dior haute couture house, headquartered 30 avenue Montaigne.
1947 Presentation of Dior’s first fashion collection, called the "New look" collection by Harper’s Bazaar.
1948 Foundation of Christian Dior Parfums and launch of the Miss Dior fragrance.
1950 Dior launches a licensing program to enter new luxury markets as furs, handbags and jewelry.
1953 Launch of Dior’s first shoe collection in collaboration with Roger Vivier.
1955 Opening of Dior’s Grande Boutique avenue Montaigne.
1957 Christian Dior passes away. The 21 year old designer Yves Saint Laurent is appointed Fashion Artistic Director of the Dior house.
1960 Yves Saint Laurent is replaced by Marc Bohan.
1966 Launch of the "Eau Sauvage" fragrance.
1967 Opening of the Baby Dior boutique 28 avenue Montaigne.
1969 Creation of Christian Dior Cosmetics.
1970 First Christian Dior Homme clothing line.
1975 Launch of the "Black Moon" watch.
1984 Bernard Arnault takes over the management of the Dior house.
1985 Launch of the "Poison" fragrance.
1989 Gianfranco Ferré becomes Fashion Artistic Director of Dior.
1997 John Galliano replaces Gianfranco Ferré as Fashion Artistic Director.
1998 Victoire de Castellane steps in as the Designer of Dior Fine Jewelry.
1999 Release of the "J’adore" fragrance.
2005 Release of the "Miss Dior Chérie" and "Dior Homme" fragrances.
2007 Kris Van Assche becomes Artistic Director of Dior Homme.
